Supporting Care Leavers as They Step Into the World

Why do we exist?

Why do we exist?

At WeLive Foundation, we are driven by a critical mission: to address the pressing needs of care leavers, young adults who are abruptly forced to leave the only homes they have known when they turn 18. This sudden transition often leaves them ill-prepared to face the world, leading to disastrous consequences that can undo the positive impact of their earlier institutional care. That's where we come in. Our organization is what these care leavers need to overcome the challenges they face.

Every year, about 60,000 young people are forced to leave childcare institutions when they turn 18. WeLive Foundation extends its support to care leavers from various childcare institutions. We understand the difficulties that arise when care leavers are forced to fend for themselves at such a tender age. That's why we have developed a comprehensive 1-3 year transition program tailored to support them during this critical period. Their time at WeLive Foundation will enable them to lead independent lives. Our program aims to equip care leavers with the confidence, essential life skills, and physical and mental well-being necessary to navigate the complexities of independent living and integrate into society.

What do we do?

What do we do?

At WeLive, we provide a transformative residential program spanning 1-3 years, designed to guide care leavers as they embark on their journey into adulthood. Through our program, we instill a sense of optimism, foster confidence, and help them develop the practical skills needed for a fulfilling, secure, and meaningful life.

During their time at WeLive Foundation, care leavers are empowered to lead independent lives with a newfound sense of purpose. Our program focuses on building their strength in multiple areas, prioritizing their overall well-being, and preparing them for successful entry into the workforce. By addressing their unique needs and providing the necessary support, we ensure these young individuals can overcome obstacles and seize opportunities to thrive. In addition to the program, WeLive operates three centers, one for men and two for women, which provide a safe environment for care leavers. At these centers, care leavers can develop life skills, receive mentorship, and be surrounded by peers in similar situations.

We believe that every care leaver deserves a chance at a brighter future. Join us in making a difference in their lives and creating a society that supports and uplifts those who need it the most.
